Reeling and Healing Midwest VolunteerReeling & Healing Midwest volunteer opportunities are available at our retreats, fundraisers, and other outings and activities. Knowledge of fly-fishing is not a prerequisite. All potential volunteers are required to submit a Volunteer Information Form (PDF Download or Online Below). Please note that submitting a Volunteer Information Form does not register you as a volunteer for a retreat or any other event.

To register as a Volunteer with Reeling & Healing Midwest please fill out a Volunteer Information Form. You will receive confirmation that your form has been processed and have placed on our mailing list.

To Volunteer By Phone:

To volunteer for a Retreat, you are required to download and submit a Retreat Registration and Health Release Form in addition to the Volunteer Information Form if you have not previously submitted one. To have the forms sent to you, call us at 866-237-5725 or 616-855-4017. Mail or fax the completed forms with payment to the address located on the forms. You will receive a confirmation call or email once your forms and payment have been processed.

Submitting this form, or any other volunteer forms, is not confirmation of attendance at a specific retreat or event. After we receive your forms, a retreat coordinator will contact you and review your request. If space is available at the specific event(s) you requested, and your application meets all Reeling & Healing Midwest requirements, you will receive confirmation and additional details. Retreat volunteer slots are available on a first come/first served basis. No fees are processed until you have been confirmed to attend.

Details for Retreat Volunteering

New Participant Retreat:
Reeling & Healing Midwest requests a fee to confirm and hold your slot at a retreat. As there are many individuals interested in volunteering, and space is limited, the 2007 fee for the New Participant Retreat is $25.00. The only other cost to a volunteer is a one-day fishing license. This cost ranges from $7-$9 depending on the age of the volunteer.

Reunion Retreats:
The fee for the Reunion Retreats varies depending on the duration and location of the retreat. Please consult the retreat registration form for the correct fee of the retreat. Please note that the fee covers food, beverage, amenities and lodging (where applicable). Each volunteer that intends to guide/fish is required to own/purchase a valid fishing license. The cost of a daily fishing license ranges from $7-$9 depending on age of the participant.

Notes on Your Application to Volunteer at a Retreat:
No fees are processed until confirmation of your attendance at a specific retreat(s) has been completed.

Because we incur certain pre-retreat expenses, the following policy is necessary if you cancel. Notice of cancellation must be made in writing or via e-mail. If this notice is received in our office 30 days or more before a retreat, you will receive a full refund. If cancellation is received 15-29 days prior to the retreat date, 50% of fees received will be credited toward another retreat. No refund will be given if you cancel 14 days or less before the retreat you were scheduled to attend. However, should you find a replacement a 75% refund will be reimbursed. If you register by phone/fax within 14 days of a retreat with a commitment of payment, and cancel, you are responsible for remitting payment.
